Insight is extremely flexible and allows you to set-up the data fields, calculations, terminology, validations and data workflows in a way that makes sense for your business.  You can load data direcly from Microsoft Excel files, or automatically connect to commercial data feeds for prices, historic data and consensus forecasts.  Extracting and manipulating data is straight-forward using Insight's range of extraction tools and APIs.

Insight's flexibility and unique data mapping functions allow the variations typically found in company data to be easily stored in the same database fields, without any loss of meaning.  This allows you to aggregate, filter and analyse data, such as P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements without expensive data set-up or modification.

Existing spreadsheet models can be easily and quickly linked to Blue Curve Insight through the data mapping functions.  Data contribution from Microsoft Excel is simple and quick through dedicated menu options that validate and submit the data.

All data updates can be recorded in the Insight audit trail, allowing you to build an historic view of all forecast changes.  And data workflow allows the data to be released into the public domain in-lne with company policy or related content such as a research report.

Getting data out of Insight is just as flexible and straight-forward:

  • Automate data extraction into Microsoft Word or PowerPoint through components specified in Create;
  • Review and aggregate data in Microsoft Excel using Insight Data Extractor;
  • Publish data to a web browser using the Blue Curve API;
  • Generate email content direct from the database.
